Living Word Lutheran Junior Winds

Living Word Lutheran High School has a youth honors ensemble, called the Junior Winds, which is available to 6th–8th grade students who have already had at least one full year of lessons on their instruments.

The LWL Junior Winds is meant to complement, not replace, a student’s school music program. If students are invited to participate in LWL Junior Winds, they are also required to be participating in their schools’ band programs. Home-schooled students should be taking lessons in addition to their Junior Winds participation.

Rehearsals will be TUESDAY evenings at Living Word Lutheran High School (2230 Living Word Lane, Jackson, WI 53037) from 6:30-7:30 PM. Students are able to join at most times during the school year, even if it is after the first rehearsal date. The first rehearsal is on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. (You can join after the first rehearsal date)

There will be two (2) performances where the LWL Junior Winds will have the opportunity to play with the high school’s Concert Band and Symphonic Band. Performances are

Informed Consent and Acknowledgement

I grant permission to participate in Living Word Lutheran Junior Winds. I understand that attendance is mandatory for all performance dates. I understand that rehearsal attendance is essential out of respect for the ensemble as a whole and to assure that my student is prepared for performances. If the need arises for my student to miss a rehearsal, I will communicate with the director prior to that rehearsal.

I hereby authorize, in the case of medical emergency, the director to act according to their best judgment. I waive and release Living Word Lutheran High, the director, and instructors from liability for any injuries incurred while at rehearsals and performances.
