  • 2025 Illini Summer Academies - Ag Academy Scholarship Application

    Please utilize this form to apply for consideration to recieve a scholarship as part of your participation in the following Academies only: Digital Agriculture Academy or Harness the Power: Applications of New Tech to Improve Agriculture.
  • These scholarship opportunities are only offered to students registering for the Digital Agriculture or the Harness the Power: Applications of New Tech to Improve Agriculture Academies. 

    For consideration to receive one of these scholarships, you must meet the following criteria: 

    Eligibility

    This scholarship is available to scholars who meet the following criteria:

    1. The scholar demonstrates an interest in pursuing a career or field of study related to Agriscience. 

    2. The scholar must submit responses to the essay prompts included below in this application. 

    3. A letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or mentor that can speak to who you are, your goals and career interests, your connection with the person, and, how granting you this scholarship would be a good opportunity for you. The letter can not be from a friend, family member/friend, or relative. Letters should be emailed to Mark Becker (mbbecker@illinois.edu). The letter must be in PDF or Word format. DEADLINE: FRIDAY, APRIL 19TH 

    Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for attendance at the Illini Summer Academies in the same year they are applying for the scholarship.

    Applicants will be informed via email within two weeks of applying if they have received the requested scholarship.

  • Please fill out the following prompts and let us know more about you and your career/college goals as they relate to these Academies. Please be sure to keep your responses specific, and provide examples whenever possible to illustrate the things that you are discussing. 

    For example, instead of saying "I have many previous leadership experiences...", say "I served for two years as the student body president at my High School and helped to coordinate a service learning project to provide food donations to our local food bank in 2022 and 2023". The more specific you can be, the better!
