Junior Counselor Application
As we forge our circle of camp leaders, craftspersons, songleaders, child soothers, motivators, security experts, kitchen goddesses, tie-dye designers, zen masters, water lords, game gurus, artisans, and fun havers, we extend an application to our rising 9th-12th graders (grade for 2026-2027 school year) to be a Junior Counselor at the greatest summer camp ever. Earn Volunteer Hours, Develop Leadership Skills, Bond with Peers and help make incredible memories for our amazing sumfun campers. June 15-19, 8:30-4:00pm; Training & Orientation Saturday, June 13, 10am-4pm (lunch provided); and Prep Day on Sunday, June 14, 2026 12:30-2pm (Snacks Provided). Ready to apply?

I will show up each day on time and ready to do the tasks assigned to me.
I will show kindness and give support to the campers in my care.
I will approach each task I am given with optimism and enthusiasm.
If at any time I am unsure what to do or have no tasks assigned to me, I will ask an Adult Counselor in my Cabin how I can best help.
I understand I am never to leave an assigned area without informing an adult Counselor or Camp Director.
I will not use my phone except during lunch and times in the JC breakroom.
I will not take photos of campers nor post photos of campers to social media.
I will participate in the camp activities and focus my attention on the campers.
I will immediately inform a staff member of any dangerous or potentially hazardous situation that I may observe.
I will attend the Mandatory Training Day on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 10:00-4:00pm.
I will attend the Mandatory Prep Day on Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 12:30-2:30pm.
I am aware that, as a Junior Counselor, I am invited to stay later on Thursday's Water Day for an after-camp gathering to enjoy the water slides.
I am aware that, as a Junior Counselor, I am invited to an offsite end-of-camp pool party and will coordinate my own transportation to/from event.
My parent/guardian is aware I am applying for role of Junior Counselor for this summer and will support my participation if my application is approved.
I understand that if I am not abiding by the guidelines given to me, my parents will be contacted and I may be asked to leave sumfun.
I understand that being a Junior Counselor is a privilege and an opportunity for me to develop leadership skills and serve my community.
I understand that Junior Counselors who demonstrate their commitment, responsibility and leadership during the week will be eligible for official sign off of volunteer hours upon request.
