The Conference Lay Leader represents the laypeople of the Northeast GMC in working with the President Pro Tem, Conference Leaders, and clergy for the mission and vision of the Northeast Annual Conference. The lay leader engages in spiritual practices that build a relationship of attentiveness to God's will and direction so as to interpret the mission and vision of the Conference across the region. The Conference Lay Leader serves on the Conference Leadership Council, which meets 6 times per year and other times, as needed. Those who are interested in this Conference-wide role exhibit deep faith in Jesus Christ, commitment to the mission of the Global Methodist Church, and are willing to engage with laity and clergy across the region to build the culture of the Global Methodist Church in the Northeast.
