An example of a great nomination from 2022:
oSTEM at Texas A&M organises professional, social and academics events to support their students, even when the community around them has provided hostile towards LGBTQ+ students and organisations in the past. Events this chapter have hosted are numerous including Free Gay Brunches, Queer Book Club, “Mocktail Hours'' with LGBTQ+ professors, graduate students, and undergraduates. The real stand out event for this chapter however was in Sping 2022, originally a university-sponsored event, Draggieland was quietly canceled by their University, despite being an award-winning drag show. Our chapter of year in collaboration with other LGBTQ+ organizations on campus, put on this event independently as an act of radical resilience in the face of intense homophobia on campus. In addition to campus advocacy, we have also taught workshops on ethical issues, including an “Ethics of Working in STEM: Capitalism and Labor”, and a “History of Eugenics'' presentation.
