School Holiday Group Therapy Info Pack - April 2024

Hi there, here is all the information that you'll need to know about our April school holiday groups  - plus a way to sign up. Lets get started!

    Stepping Stones Therapy Services is running a range of group therapy sessions, to provide some additional support to both new and existing clients over the April school holiday period.

    We will continue to run a range of after school group therapy sessions next term. More information about these will be provided shortly.

    Gravity and Gaming Session:

    Join the Stepping Stones team and have fun making social connections while jumping in a safe and exciting environment. Building gross motor and core strength while applying problem solving skills through play.

    After a 2-hour session at Gravity the clients will then explore functional skills by purchasing their own lunch (funded by Stepping Stones) and then catch the bus to Homebase for an afternoon of "chillin" with team games and Lego activities.

     

    Finer details:

    Date/Time: Wednesday 3rd April , 9.45 am - 3pm

    Price: $495.  This can be completely funded through NDIS funding; please speak to one of our staff to find out more.

    Location:  Drop off: Gravity ETC - 43 Norton Promenade Dalyellup 

                     Pick-up Stepping Stones' 'Homebase' Office: 4/30, Forrest Ave, Bunbury.

    What to bring: Bring a full water bottle!

    What not to bring: Unfortunately, siblings are unable to attend this group program

    Parents required?: Parents are not required to attend these sessions. Parents will need to sign a Waiver with Gravity ETC prior to the session. This can be done online or when you drop off your child.

    Pamper Day

    This group is aimed to provide a safe and inclusive space for those who would like to join in some self care pampering, while also targeting functional, social and sensory skills. 

    Join Stepping Stones to learn life skills such as meal planning, catching public transport for morning tea and a sensory treat of getting your nails professionally done. Participants will shop to purchase lunch supplies and will then need to prepare their lunch as a group. After enjoying the lunch creations, the afternoon will be filled with fun activities including making lip balm, friendship bracelets and craft while building social connections.          

     

    Finer details:

    Dates: Friday 5th April, 9am - 2:00pm 

    Price: $495. This can be partially or completely funded through Medicare, Private Health and NDIS funding; please speak to one of our staff to find out more.

    What to bring: A full water bottle! Unfortunately, siblings are unable to attend this group program

    Parents required?: Parents are not required to attend these sessions.

    Equine (Horse) Therapy Try it Out Day:

    This session is to give opportunity to young people with diverse abilities to develop new skills, discover new abilities and define the life they want to live.
    Join Stepping Stones and 'Liv with Horses' to harness the therapeutic power of horses to target physical health and emotional well-being for young people living with physical, intellectual, emotional, and social challenges.
    This program lets people interact with horses with the help of specially trained providers. Through practices like bathing, grooming, and caring for the horse, individuals can explore their own feelings, behaviours, and interactions with others.

    Horse riding can also improve coordination, muscle power, balance, decision-making, and general wellbeing.

    Finer details:

    Dates: Monday 8th April, 9am - 11:30am 

    Price: $440. This can be partially or completely funded through Medicare, Private Health and NDIS funding; please speak to one of our staff to find out more.

    What to bring: A full water bottle enclosed shoes a hat and sunscreen! Unfortunately, siblings are unable to attend this group program

    Parents required?: Parents are not required to attend these sessions. 

    Location: 262 Capel Tutunup Road, Capel

    Clients will need to be dropped off and collected from this location.

    Bowling and Indoor Golfing

    Meet the Stepping Stones team at the Ten-Pin Bowling Centre to engage in a day of bowling and golfing.

    The morning will give participants the opportunity to play a couple of games of ten-pin bowling, while engaging in social skills.

    The afternoon session will involve a virtual golfing session where co-ordination and gross motor skills will be developed. To conclude the session the group will come together to de-brief the day before being collected.

    To break the sessions up the participants will split into teams to purchase their lunch from an agreed venue at Centre Point guided by our team members.

    Location: Ten-Pin Bowling Centre 136 Strickland Street Bunbury.

    Discover Bunbury/Escape Bunbury

    Join Vanessa and Bec at Homebase, before catching public transport into the town, to tour the Bunbury Museum and surrounds before participants will enjoy a lunch together building social connections.

     The afternoon will see participants embark on a collaborative adventure using problem solving and team building skills to sleuth their way out of the "Times-up" escape room.

     

    Finer details:

    Dates: Thursday 11th April, 9am - 2:00pm 

    Price: $495. This can be partially or completely funded through Medicare, Private Health and NDIS funding; please speak to one of our staff to find out more.
