NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY DAY (NPD) AWARD CRITERIA
Outstanding Volunteer (Individual or Group)
- Evidence of quality of leadership and organizational ability in fundraising campaigns or agency mission.
- Description of time and effort contributed to reach the goals of campaign or mission.
- Evidence of success recruiting and motivating others to get results.
- Description of participation and support of other non-profit organizations.
Outstanding Small Business (Approx. 50 employees and less)
- Evidence of specific financial contribution/support to the community. If applicable, describe support of projects or programs, which extend beyond the community.
- Description of direct achievements, such as new programs or innovations launched through organization’s efforts.
- Evidence of encouraging and motivating others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement.
Outstanding Business, or Group within Business (over 50 employees)
- Evidence of specific financial contribution/support to the community. If applicable, describe support of projects or programs, which extend beyond the community.
- Description of direct achievements, such as new programs or innovations launched through organization’s efforts.
- Evidence of encouraging and motivating others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement.
Outstanding Community Group (for any group that does not fall into other categories)
- Evidence of outstanding commitment through financial support or time and effort of community projects or charitable concerns, by making the community a better place.
- Description of direct achievements, such as new programs launched or innovative approaches to problems through the group’s support.
- Evidence of encouraging and motivating others toward philanthropy and community involvement.
Outstanding Foundation (for organizations whose primary mission is funding)
- Evidence of outstanding commitment through financial support of community projects and charitable concerns.
- Description of direct achievements, such as new programs launched or innovative approaches to problems through the foundation’s support.
Outstanding Philanthropist
- Evidence of direct contribution/support to nominee’s organization/community.
- Description of specific achievements, can be new programs or innovations launched through his/her efforts.
- Evidence of encouraging and motivating others to take leadership roles toward philanthropy and community involvement and participation.
- Description of, participation in, and support of other non-profit organizations.
Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (Individual or Group)
- Evidence of outstanding involvement and commitment to a philanthropic activity.
- Description of volunteer hours spent on a fundraising project to benefit a specific cause.
- If applicable, evidence of motivating peers to become involved with a philanthropic activity.
- Berks County Community Foundation will match the amount raised by the award recipient up to $2,000.
Meggan Kerber Outstanding Fundraising Professional
- Description of length of time and tenure of fundraising background and experience (at least ten years of professional fundraising experience).
- Evidence of quality of leadership that is persuasive, effective, creative and stimulating as well as evidence of giving his/her best as a team player.
- Description of individual’s commitment to volunteerism, continuing professional development and evidence of participation and collaboration with other non-profit organizations (provide specific examples.)
- Recognized organizational ability in fundraising campaigns.
- Individual must be a member of AFP (if not known Berks Regional Chapter AFP will verify).
