You are signing up for something called the Ignite Cycle. 

It's an iterative system where teams start with a month-long development cycle, then refine and complete the project over several more cycles.

Ignite has both software and game developments with a positive impact in mind being developed in these cycles.

Helpfulness is a free currency which makes sure are contributors distributed to teams equally.

We use Mee6's currency system which is not perfect.

You need 1000 Helpfulness before joining a team.

Should you want to join a team, you should request the team leader to give you the Helpfulness necessary to join that team.

Individuals which are in the process of registering a team after this will receive 6000 Helpfulness so that they and 5 other people can be joined with them.

Type "/coins" to see how much Helpfulness you have. Try to do this in #📴︱bot-spam out of courtesy. 

Every team has a tier (T1).

Everyone on a team needs to buy the tier-specific join pass.

T1 = Teams led by people who have never submitted before.

T2 = Teams led by people who have submitted an Ignite project once.

T3 = Led by people who have been elected to the top 50% of a T2 team.

T4 = Top 50% of a T3 team.

 
It all depends on the leader; the members don't matter.

1) Click on "📴︱bot-spam"
2) Type "/buy"
3) Select the item (usually T1 Single Team Join Pass if your team lead new).

Team leaders will give you an item called "Give 2,000 Helpfulness" when they want you on their team. Once you receive the item from them, use the command "/use" and follow the instructions sent to your direct messages to redeem it.

If you're planning to make a team, just ignore this.

Use that Helpfulness to buy the join pass necessary to start working with the team.

If you're planning to make your own team, ignore this.

A team leader paying you Helpfulness to join their team symbolizes their commitment to you.

However, that Helpfulness also represents a debt you will pay back to the team.

Teams need 10,000+ Helpfulness per team member to submit to the competition.

Every day when you login you will see your team in voice chat:

Join them as early as possible and stay as long as possible.

Sometimes you will be the first person online. Don't wait for others. Make your team's voice channel.

1) Click #🌱 Hub - Join to create

2) It will place you in your own channel. However, you still need to change the channel name to your team's name.

2-1) Click "Open Chat"

2-2) Type /voice-rename and select that option.

2) Do this every day as early as you can.
Try it now.

If you are not on a team, use "Test Channel" as your team's name.

If your team already has a channel up; the new channel you create will disappear in 10 minutes. Create one anyway.

Paying back your team is simple: just be in voice chat as often as possible.

Even if you are away from keyboard, being in voice chat gives you Helpfulness.

Private Threads

Private threads can be used for one-on-one communication or group communication.

It's what we use to communicate instead of private messages.

How do I create a thread?

1) Visit #🏡︱channels-tickets
2) Click (+) (on mobile, you will need to tap in the typing bar first to get the thread icon).
3) Click 🧵

If you want the conversation to be private, check the box and tag the person you want to message in the thread. 

Private Channels

Never use private chats for work-related conversations. 

Virus Warning

In our high-trust environment, where playtesting is encouraged, we face the issue of viruses targeting individuals under the guise of game testing. Clicking the link leads to their computer being hijacked to spread the virus.

Only test games with other people in voice chat.

Friend Requests

Do not send or accept friend requests from colleagues on Discord.

You are free to add each other on Twitter or Steam or Facebook.

We have daily meetups. Add the daily meeting time to your calendar.

Make sure to choose one that doesn't say APAC or West Coast unless you were onboarded very specifically to a team that told you to look for that. As of writing this, APAC and West Coast teams do not exist.

Check what the daily meeting time is for you. It will change based on your time zone.
All meetings are in your own time zone.

It's at that time that you'll be meeting with your team, so be sure to come to those meetings.

If you cannot come, your team should set up a daily meeting that is not at that time.

Set a timer or alarm and be on time. If you're at work or otherwise indisposed, just be in the voice chat to show support, but don't speak.

If you can't log in at that particular time, you can log in earlier than the time listed and remain in the channel AFK until the event.

If you have chosen to come to the main general meeting, then those will always happen in our general meeting chat #🤝━ Meetings. Division meetings happen in division-specific channels.
