Research Instruction Class Request

Thanks for your interest in scheduling an instruction session with a librarian for your FDS students!

Please fill out this form to get the process started. You'll have a choice of versions of the presentation depending on how much time you'd like to dedicate for the session. Here are the options:

Basic Introduction (~30 minutes)
- Students will get a basic introduction to conducting research, resources, and services available from the Bentley Library.
- Librarians will use a set lesson plan and visit your classroom.
Research Workshop (50 - 80 minutes)
- Students will get an introduction to conducting research, resources, and services available from the Bentley Library as well as hands-on workshop time to begin exploring potential topics or conducting research for their FDS research assignments.
- Librarians can use a set lesson plan or we will develop a customized lesson plan for your FDS course as necessary (i.e. subject specific resources related to your theme or assignment).
- Librarians can visit your classroom or classes can meet in the Research Instruction Center (RIC - Room 011, Lower Level of the Library).

Please allow at least 2 weeks notice prior to your first preferred date of the session for scheduling purposes. Scheduling early will increase chances that your first preferred date/time will be available and allow for further discussions for planning.

This may include: estimated level of students’ research skills, students’ potential research topics, theme of class, requests for topics covered during the session, or any special accommodations needed.

Please include any relevant documents that could help in preparing for the session, such as a copy of the research assignment worksheet or the syllabus for the class.
