Herbal Support & Harm Reduction in Eating Disorder Recovery
In this hour-long workshop, we’ll be talking about how eating disorders impact fertility & how we can support folks & their cycles from a harm reduction lens using herbs & a body literacy practice.
This webinar includes information about different types of eating disorders, the impacts of disordered eating on fertility & bodily systems, using harm reduction to support folks in their recovery and body literacy practices, and herbs to offer additional support.
We’ll be talking about how to apply a harm reduction lens to navigating eating disorders/disordered eating for yourself, your loved ones, &/or your clients. I’ll be sharing herbal support protocols for different manifestations of eating disorders with the understanding that eating disorder recovery is very non-linear. I believe that eating disorders are a coping mechanism often celebrated by our twisted culture & can be deeply insidious. Traditional recovery models do not have space for the non-linearity of it all and are often financially inaccessible as well as totally tone deaf to the reality of the experience of an ed. Eating disorders are very tricky because we can not be abstinent from food and our bodies- and because many disordered behaviors are celebrated & promoted by wellness culture- they can feel impossible to move past. How can we take care of ourselves & each other with a lot of space and understanding that these are complex issues rooted in a lot of secrecy and shame? I have a lot of thoughts & am excited to share.
