About the Exhibit: The Arts Council of White Lake - Nuveen Center (ACWL-Nuveen) seeks original 4” x 6” postcard-size drawings created by Urban Sketcher members from around the world. We are looking for sketches that provide a view of daily life and images that feature the unique characteristics of communities around the globe. There will be an exhibition reception on Saturday, September 14 from 1:00 - 3:00pm. On Saturday, October 26 we will be hosting sketch meet-ups and an artist demonstration. More activities will be scheduled throughout the exhibition.
About the ACWL-Nuveen: The ACWL-Nuveen is a visual arts non-profit located in Whitehall, Michigan, USA. For over 38 years, we have served West Michigan by offering accessible and engaging opportunities in the arts - www.artswhitelake.org The ACWL-Nuveen has a collaborative and supportive relationship with artist members in Michigan-based Urban Sketcher groups and we hosted the first statewide exhibit of Michigan chapters in 2022.
Eligibility: Open to Urban Sketchers 18 years and older. Only original drawings using any medium, that have been sketched on location – not from photographs are eligible. All entries must abide by the Urban Sketchers Vision & Values
Entry Procedures and Fees: Each artist may submit up to three, 4” x 6” drawings. There is NO FEE to participate in the show.All forms must be completed in their entirety to ensure correct identification. Artworks should be mailed or delivered to the ACWL-Nuveen by Saturday, August 31, 2024. Mail to:

Framing and Labeling: The drawings can be framed but it is not mandatory. ALL pieces need to be labelled legibly on the back with your name, title, location and USk affiliation.
Conditions and Liability: Artwork must remain on display at the ACWL-Nuveen for the duration of the exhibit. All of the artworks will be on sale for $30, or you can list it as Not For Sale (NFS). ACWL-Nuveen will take a 20% commission with 15% going to support ACWL-Nuveen arts programming and the remaining 5% donated to the global Urban Sketchers organization. ACWL-Nuveen will take every precaution to protect the artwork however we are not responsible for any loss or damage. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Registration in this exhibit grants ACWL-Nuveen permission to use images of submitted artwork for exhibition publicity.
Optional: Submit a short video introducting yourself and the Urban Sketchers chapter you belong to. These will be put together into a video to show during the exhibit.
