This is the registration form for the 2024 Anti-Bias Curriculum Development Lab, scheduled for July 15th-July 18th.
Wicht Consulting Inc. is partnering with the Institute for Teaching Diversity and Social Justice (IDSJ) to offer the very first unit writing lab. If you are responsible for unit and curriculum planning, this four-day curriculum lab is for you! Classroom teachers, DEI coordinators over curriculum, administrators over curriculum, curriculum specialists, and instructional coaches in grades K12 are encouraged to sign up. In a unique writing lab setting, you will apply a culturally sustaining lens to standards-aligned instructional planning and learn how to create a unit plan that is aligned to academic and social justice standards and that merges Understanding by Design (UbD0), Inquiry Design Model (IDM), and anti-bias education goals (ABE). Refresh your UbD and IDM pedagogy knowledge while integrating the SJS into a content-standards-aligned unit. Leave with a new (or newly redesigned) 6-8 week unit plan and the knowledge to repeat the unit planning process with the remaining units in your scope and sequence (S&S).
The ABCD Lab will be hosted at Fairleigh Dickinson University Metropolitan Campus: 1000 River Road, Teaneck New Jersey. There is a limit of 4 participants from one school/organization for the Lab.
Days will run from 9am - 4pm ET. Breakfast begins at 8:30am. Registration includes breakfast and lunch for each day of the Lab.
If your school district requires an invoice to process payment, or if you have any questions, please contact info@idsj.us.
