Thanks for your interest in applying for the Equity Redesign Community of Practice!
The Equity Redesign Community of Practice will consist of MTC and MSC leadership teams who are committed to redesigning their Circle to increase attention to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. During the yearlong program, leadership teams will have the opportunity to:
- Learn and participate in thought-partnership with peers during bimonthly community meetings
- Investigate and address one or more self-identified problems of practice in their Circle
- Contribute to the development of tools and knowledge that benefit the Math Circle Network as a whole
Leadership teams of existing Math Circles are eligible to apply. We anticipate that most successful applications will come from leadership teams consisting of between 3 and 5 individuals; however, we are open to considering teams with only 2 or more than 5. For MTCs, leadership teams will typically include members representing both K-12 and higher education.
Participating leadership teams will receive a grant of $1500 for their Math Circle.
The deadline has been extended to Monday, April 22, 2024, with decisions announced by the end of April. Funding is available for up to 5 MTCs and 5 MSCs to participate. If we receive more applications than we can support, we will prioritize balancing the participation of MSCs and MTCs and including Circles that have strong potential to serve students from historically marginalized communities or their teachers.
