WomenHeart is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Wenger Awards. Named after women heart disease pioneer Dr. Nanette K. Wenger, the Wenger Awards highlights excellence in women heart disease, including research, innovation, practice, advocacy and partnerships. The Wenger Awards will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at the Hotel Washington Hotel, in Washington, DC.
Please submit nominations for this year’s Wenger Awards with the following information:
- Nominee’s name/organization and contact information
- Brief description of why you believe this individual/organization deserves this award at this time
- Letter of recommendation
- Curriculum vitae, if applicable (a short bio will work as well)
Award Categories:
Execellence in Medical Research: Presented to a healthcare provider/researcher who has demonstrated a commitment to women and heart disease, and made a significant contribution to advancing research and innovation, asking the important research questions about the disparities that women face.
Excellence in Public Service: Presented to an individual or organization who best focuses on improving public perceptions and policies that will educate women and reduce their heart disease risks and ensure access to care.
Excellence in Medical Leadership/Clinical Practice: Presented to a healthcare provider who has demonstrated a commitment to women and heart disease, and made a significant contribution to clinical practice on their behalf.
Excellence in Media: Presented to an individual or organization who has reached a national audience with breakthrough messages about women and heart disease through the thoughtful use of traditional media and/or social media outlets.
Excellence in Advocacy: Presented to an individual or organization who has demonstrated a commitment to advocate for or to educate women about heart disease, to improve their quality of care and has fully embraced their need for healing and empowerment
Rising Star: Presented to an individual early in their career, in the universe of women and heart disease who has demonstrated their intention to dedicate their career to the pursuit of improving the lives of women living with or at risk for heart disease and will be making contributions in the fields for decades to come.
Deadline: Nominations must be submitted no later than April 11, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET.
