In Ignite, we pair you with open source contributors working on games which have a positive impact on society. We also partner with nonprofits to support their initiatives.
You can be onboarded to nonprofits operating within the platform. However, as an Ignite participant, you yourself are simply an open source contributor.
The staff you interact with in Ignite have the "Ignite Host" role.Everyone else is an open source contributor. Some are the staff of outside nonprofits.
The person giving you an Introduction is very likely an open source contributor just like you. They are providing support willingly and have no obligation to do so.
They will ask you a series of questions to help partner you with an ideal project.Whereas any information you share in these forms is kept private by our organization, our open source contributors have no formal obligation to do so.
You are free to choose what you share and don't share with them.
Our organization supports a wide variety of positive impact and open source projects. We require all projects in Ignite to follow an iterative cycle in which every five weeks, three testable iterations are created of the game or software.
This helps keep the games and software created here focused on being usable.
These five-week-long events are called Ignite Sprint Cycles. These cycles are held as competitions in which new projects and old projects compete on progress. These competitions serve primarily as a means to establish concrete milestones.
So far we have asked you questions and helped you establish who we are without deciding if you're right for us or not.The real test is finding a team that's willing to accept you.
In this form, we will share your skills and see if teams are interested to have you. Then the person assisting you will take the information you share with them to help advocate on your behalf to the teams within Ignite.
Professionalism involves seeing things through to completion. If this opportunity is not right for you, take this chance to withdraw gracefully.
If you are in voice chat with our team, drop out silently (no need to say anything) and everyone will understand.
Don't overthink each one of these options. Rather, go through things quickly and efficiently, and try to finish each in 30 seconds maximum.
Sharing your screen will greatly help the other members place you on a relevant project. Please do so now, if you feel comfortable:

There are four sets of terms and conditions to agree to. You likely already agreed to all of these when you verified to joined the Discord. The first set is the Apache Open Source License. The next set is the Apache CLA.The third one is a data sharing agreement that is not anything like a traditional data sharing agreement but rather allows us to share data between multiple entities which we are dividing into. We intend to divide into a charity, a nonprofit, and a wholly-owned subsidiary business in order to fulfill our complex mission, and we'd like all of those bits of who we are to be allowed to stay in touch with you. Finally, we have our general EULA.
