The current pipeline consists of approximately 4,000 ha, equivalent to around 4 GW, in selected key areas, and the company is now in the process of developing one of Denmark's largest utility-scale solar PV projects, with a capacity exceeding 500 MW.
The position
As the Head of Technical Management, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical development and execution of St. Jørgen’s solar, wind, and BESS projects. You will lead a team of talented PV engineers and project managers, providing technical expertise, guidance, and support throughout the project lifecycle. Your strategic vision and leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective renewable energy solutions. As the new Head of Technical Management your primary responsibilities will include the development and execution of the technical visions, strategy, and roadmaps aligned with the overall business objectives. You will also participate in seeing the end-to-end project management processes, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with quality standards. By being part of St. Jørgen’s team you will have a very broad contact surface in the organization, and you have the possibility to make your mark on St. Jørgen's development.
Furthermore, your tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support to other teams in St. Jørgen
- Providing insight and vision on technologies and trends, and assessing their potential impact on the energy projects and industry
- Overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction processes, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Providing inspirational leadership to the technical team and ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skillsets
Your profile
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field, preferably an advanced degree, as well as at least 10 years of experience in technical management roles within the renewable energy industry, with a focus on solar and wind projects. To fill this role, you must have strong technical expertise in solar and wind energy technologies, including PV system design, wind turbine technology, and grid integration and proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale renewable energy projects, from concept to completion. You must have effective team lead and managerial skills as well as the ability to inspire a diverse technical team. You must also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and interface with all employee levels across the company.
The ideal candidate is a team player, detailed oriented, and is able to coordinate and prioritize numerous important tasks. You are also service-minded, independent and a motivated individual, who thrives in a cross-cultural environment. It is crucial that you show flexibility and have a structural mindset.
Furthermore, it is expected that you have:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Awareness of the latest technologies and trends in regard to present and future projects
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and reports
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Danish and English
- Experience with a broad range of energy storage technologies is a plus
