  • STUDENT COMMITMENT

In recognition of the vital role summer camp can play in the life of a student, it's important that every student and leader be on the same page regarding expectations. The desire of summer camp leadership is that each student will have an enjoyable experience, and that they'll be challenged, encouraged, and inspired in their faith.

To that end, there are a few basic ground rules that each summer camp participant will need to commit to:

    1. During our time together, there will be separate living areas for guys and girls. At no time during camp should a student be in the living area of the opposite sex.

    2. Please use discretion when choosing your swimwear.

    3. Student's are not permitted to bring items that are sharp, make noise, or contain explosives. This includes, but is not limited to, the following items: knives, guns, fireworks, stereo systems, laser pointers, drugs, alcohol, vape pens, hover boards, scooters... you get the idea.

    4. It is strongly encouraged and recommended that students leave valuables at home. Olivet Nazarene University and the Chicago Central District are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items.

    5. It is strongly encouraged and recommended that students leave their cell phones at home. Students that do bring a cell phone are permitted to make emergency calls. Students are not permitted to be on their phone during the day. The goal here is not to restrict access, but instead promote being present in the moment, with the people, and in the space you are in.

By signing this form, you agree that you're willing to cooperate with summer camp staff, adult leaders, and the staff of Olivet Nazarene University. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
