Dear Scholarship Applicant:
Please read and comply with all components of the application. Please note that failure to respond to any component of the application may be cause for elimination from the scholarship process. You must complete the required sections on this application.
The following application requirements are highlighted to emphasize their importance.
• The student must be enrolled, full-time, at Tennessee State University for the upcoming academic year
• The application must be typed (No Exceptions)
• Completed application and required documentation must be received on or before June 7, 2024. (No Exceptions)
The below items are required to complete the application. It is recommended that you have these items available before beginning the application.
• A sealed, official transcript which includes the final two (2) semesters of your current academic year
• Typed essay with a minimum of 300 words describing 1. What is a meaningful experience or class you’ve had in school? OR 2. How do you define failure and success?
• Three (3) letters of recommendation, as described on the application. 1. Typed letter from a campus professor/advisor on school letterhead. 2. Typed letter from a supervisor where community service hours were performed on letterhead stationery with original signature
3. Typed letter from a community resident in your hometown not related to the applicant.
You will be notified by the Scholarship Co-Chairpersons if you are one of the candidates considered for a scholarship. The final decision will be made after you meet with the Scholarship Committee, for an Oral Interview. Your presence at the interview (virtual or in-person) will be MANDATORY.
