Client Responsibility
It is your responsibility to notify me within 8 hours after birth so we can arrange pickup or drop-off of your placenta. If I am not notified within that timeframe, preparation may be delayed, which could affect the quality, nutrients, hormones, and other beneficial properties of the placenta. Improper storage before pickup or drop-off may also lead to spoilage.
It is your responsibility to speak with your birth facility during pregnancy about releasing your placenta after birth and to make sure it is stored properly until it is picked up or dropped off. This means keeping it refrigerated or in a cooler on ice until preparation begins.
It is also your responsibility to let me know about any known bloodborne illnesses or health conditions, such as HIV, hepatitis, herpes, or any other condition that may create a safety risk for me or anyone handling your placenta. Some conditions may prevent me from being able to safely offer placenta encapsulation services in my home.
My Responsibility
My responsibility is to protect your privacy, handle your placenta with care, and provide clean, safe, and professional preparation services. I will return your completed capsules within 72 hours of receiving your placenta whenever possible.
If I am unexpectedly unavailable, I will arrange for a qualified backup placenta specialist to provide services.
When Encapsulation May Not Be Possible
There may be situations where your placenta cannot be encapsulated. If there are concerns about abnormalities, your provider may send the placenta to pathology for testing. If that happens, encapsulation may not be possible without additional approval.
If there are signs of infection during labor or birth, consuming your placenta may not be recommended for your health and safety. I will always discuss any concerns with you before deciding if your placenta is safe to prepare.
In many cases, your placenta can still be released after a cesarean birth. Please keep me informed of any medical concerns that may affect preparation.
Refund Policy
Deposits are non-refundable. If I have already received your placenta and you decide not to continue with services, I will return it to you for disposal. Once preparation has started, payment is due in full, even if you choose not to receive the finished capsules.
