  • Nathaniel Allison Murray Scholarship Awards Application

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Omicron Eta Lambda Chapter
  • PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., founded in 1906, is the oldest Black Greek-letter intercollegiate fraternity in the United States. The Omicron Eta Lambda Charitable Foundation funds the education programs and efforts of the chapter, which is based in Washington, DC. These programs include the presentation of available scholarships to high school seniors who have excelled academically, as well as formal recognition of outstanding students, educators, and parents throughout the Washington, DC area. Scholarships are reserved for applicants planning to attend a College, University, or vocational/technical school after graduation from high school. The number of scholarships awarded is dependent on the number of applicants and available funding. We anticipate multiple scholarships and awards ranging from $500.00 to $3,000.00 to be given to qualified applicants.

The Brothers of The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Omicron Eta Lambda Chapter, are proud to announce our Nathaniel A. Murray Scholarship Awards. Manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind are the aims of our fraternity. In keeping with the organization’s principles, the Omicron Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., annually awards several scholarships to eligible high school students enrolled in District of Columbia public schools. The scholarship is named after one of the seven founders of Alpha Phi Alpha, Nathaniel A. Murray, who taught at Armstrong Vocational High School in the District of Columbia.
