There is no minimum or maximum length of answer, and there are no wrong answers - our program offers an extremely intimate, intense and unique training experience, and tries to match students to other applicants who are compatible or complimentary in terms of skill level, background, goals, and personality, so that we can all #flyhigher together!
1) What are your ultimate goals as an aerial artist, and how do they fit with your ultimate goals as an individual? How do you intend to accomplish both?
2) The Urban Circus International Professional Training Program and Intensive Programs offer an unparalleled education - with high expectations. In addition to teaching curriculum, skills, and vocabulary, we also develop our students in their personal, professional, and ethical conduct. Are you willing to commit to the terms of the contract and uphold industry standards in order to protect and preserve the integrity of our art form?
3) Are you applying for scholarship or workstudy? If so, are you willing to do work-study during or after your Intensive? Workstudy students complete minimum 25 work-study hours per month.
4) Which of the following tracks are you interested in pursuing, and why? If multi-track, explain how you see your paths intersecting. - EDUCATION - focus on curriculum development, teaching techniques, levels, safety, and aerial educational programs - PERFORMANCE - focus on performance presence, choreography, character, strength, flexibility, delivery, and act development. - PRODUCTION - learn the foundations of producing and directing Theatrical / Nouveau Cirque productions.
