Join us for a special Parent Education Night focused on the joy and purpose of gardening in our school community. Our outdoor educator, Maryann, will share highlights of the gardening work happening across classrooms - from our youngest learners to our adolescents - bringing to life how hands-on experiences in nature support growth, responsibility, and connection.
During the workshop, families will gain practical tips for starting seeds at home, along with guidance to help children take an active role in caring for living things. Each participant will also create a “make & take” seed starter to bring home and begin their own garden journey.
Maryann will be available for questions and conversation, making this an opportunity not only to learn, but to connect as a community around our shared love of nature and learning.
For Montessori, outdoor environments transcend physical exercise, providing a dynamic space where children develop emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually. By observing natural processes - plants growing, insects working, or the interplay between animals and their ecosystems - children cultivate patience, a sense of time, and an understanding of interconnectedness.
