Now Hiring: Part-Time Chess Coaches ($25–$32/hr)
Day & Knight Chess Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young minds through chess. We provide after-school programs and tournaments for elementary students across Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, and San Bernardino County — and we’re looking for enthusiastic, responsible Chess Coaches to join our team!
Whether you're an education major, a college student seeking meaningful part-time work, or someone passionate about mentorship, this is a flexible and impactful role that allows you to help kids grow through the strategic game of chess.

🛠️ What You’ll Do
- Arrive early to set up the classroom: chess sets, demo board, materials
- Welcome and supervise students as they enter
- Teach or assist with a structured 45-minute chess lesson (curriculum provided)
- Help students pair up, play games, and offer feedback during gameplay
- Support classroom management by ensuring students are safe, focused, and engaged
- Escort students to the designated pickup area after class
- Remain on-site until all students have been picked up
- Follow all safety policies, including:
- Never going anywhere alone with a student
- Using staff restrooms only (not student restrooms)
📅 Availability & Locations
- Schedule: Monday–Friday between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM (may vary slightly by school)
- Counties Served:
- Los Angeles County
- Orange County
- Riverside County
- San Bernardino County
Most school sites are within these counties, including a mix of public schools and local private schools.
