  • BCS-S Life Time status must be renewed every 5 years, with the first renewal 5 years after Life Time status has been granted.

    PLEASE CAREFULLY READ ALL OF THE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION SO THAT YOUR APPLICATION CAN BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE BEGIN YOUR RENEWAL.

    EACH APPLICATION PACKET MUST INCLUDE:

    Proof of attendance and completion of continuing education at the Intermediate or Advanced Level (5.0 CE units over 5 years) with some CE accrued each of the years.  

    All CE events reported are required to be rated Intermediate or Advanced. The courses may be live, in person, or virtual. Sources to investigate for Intermediate/Advanced level conferences include the BCSS CE Courses (listed under the Continuing Ed Tab on the website), annual DRS Meetings, and the webinars offered by the Dysphagia Research Society’s Institute for Education. No beginner or introductory level CEU’s will be accepted.

    Conferences/CEU events may be domestic or international. They must directly relate to dysphagia. (For example, if the conference includes topics of Voice and Dysphagia, ONLY the seminars with dysphagia as the primary topic will be accepted for CEUs.) 

    Please remember that all CEU events reported are required to be rated Intermediate or Advanced.

  • 2. CONTINUING EDUCATION DOCUMENTATION

  • Proof of attendance and and completion of 5.00 CEUs (50 hours) in swallowing and swallowing disorders within the five years immediately preceding date of this application.
