MEALS: We are looking for a variety of meal options for our moms. Not all families have use of a stove and family sizes range from mom plus 1 - 6 children. A simple meal can provide significant comfort for families. You can help by providing a wonderful home-cooked meal for our moms or a store bought frozen one. All meals should be delivered to our MAP offices, no deliveries will be made directly to families. Hearty, health-conscious meals are appreciated.
Home-cooked Meals: A simple meal can provide significant comfort for families. Our moms really appreciate a night off from cooking.
Frozen Meals: These are easy for MAP to store in our office freezer and send home with a mom after a long day. Please see our Amazon list for suggestions.
Meal Kits / Packs: Fill and bring the meal in Ziploc bags - all non-perishable ingredients for a mom to prepare a simple meal for dinner. Example – a can of refried beans, taco seasoning and taco shells. Another variation of this is to include individual Frito bags for walking tacos. A nice addition would be to include a $10 Kroger card for ground beef.
BAKING OPPORTUNITIES
Here are some easy ways to make a difference for our moms who are committed to making positive changes in life and for their family.
Group therapy - moms come together to support each other. We would love to offer homemade cookies, such a wonderful treat, to welcome them in with the smell of fresh baked cookies! Group is held most Thursdays at 10 am and we have 12 - 15 moms (check with Kelsy to be sure Group is meeting when you plan to come).
Graduations are held after clients have completed our 28 week program. We are always in need of volunteers to bake cupcakes for the celebration or come in to help decorate and set-up.
Alumni Luncheons - our alumni moms meet once a quarter in our office if you would like to bring in breakfast or lunch for their team building activities please let us know.
Morning welcome – two or three days a week, we have moms and their children coming through our doors for assessments, pre-phase and individual therapy. It would make a special morning reception for them to be greeted with fresh baked muffins.
Bread lovers - Are you part of the sourdough craze? If you are, please share some fresh baked bread with our moms. When we send them home with a meal, a loaf of love is a nice addition!
