  • Purpose/Background

    The purpose of the OSGA Board of Directors is to represent the higher education views and interests of all Oklahoma public and private college and university students to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. In conjunction with the State Regent’s office, Board members are required to organize and facilitate the organization throughout the year.
  • Responsibilities

    Board members are required to attend in-person Board meetings at least monthly, currently set to rotate between members' home institutions. Regular telephone meetings and conference calls are also required throughout the year, leading up to major events. Additionally, the Board will convene during the summer and during the winter break for several days in order to make proper plans and preparations for the organization. In order to adequately carry out responsibilities, members of the Board of Directors will travel and visit other institutions of higher education during his or her term of office.Attendance at every OSGA event is expected and mandatory. Members will be called upon by the Chancellor of Higher Education to provide informal counsel and advice, and to make presentations at public hearings, legislative meetings, etc.
  • Requirements/Eligibility

    Must have reliable means of transportation to Board meetings, OSGA events, and other commitments. Must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at an accredited institution of Higher Education, have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8, and cannot miss more than two meetings. If you cannot complete your term of office, you must pay back financial losses incurred by the organization for your early departure.

  • Statement of Application/Commitment

    I do understand all responsibilities and commitments associated with the position as a member of the OSGA Board of Directors. I agree to remain as a regularly enrolled full time student (minimum 12 hours/semester) during my tenure as a board member should I be elected.  I also agree to allow OSGA to verify my eligibility on a semester basis.  Furthermore, I understand that I am responsible and agree to reimburse OSGA for any expenditures and costs, including amounts required to enforce collections, which I incurred against the organization during my term of office should I be unable or unwilling to complete my term. Furthermore, I understand that attendance at all Board of Directors meetings is essential and expected.
