Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve (University of Minnesota) is dedicated to understanding our planet’s ecosystems and how they are changing under human pressure. Through research, conservation, education and public engagement, Cedar Creek seeks to bridge the gaps between science, community and government.
For this Paint-Out, be sure to bring all weather gear and supplies for the day, including rain coat, cap, sunscreen, insect repellent, drinking water, and lunch.
From our host, Eddy Olson-Enamorado:
Meet at Lindeman Visitor Center (stay left when you pull in), then caravan out to Big Bio. Please come dressed to be outside in potentially hot and sunny conditions (hat, sunscreen, appropriate clothing for the high temperatures). Closed toed shoes are generally advised for the field, as it can be uneven with tall grass in places. Biting and stinging insects will most likely be present (mosquitoes, deer flies, ticks, bees) so please bring either bug spray or a bug net, or clothes that will prevent bug bites.
