Annual Income Verification Logo
  • Annual Income Verification

The Treehouse charges tuition based on a sliding scale tied to annual household gross income (before adjustments). Each year, we require families to submit income documentation to determine tuition rates and financial need. Documentation should accurately reflect your family's current financial situation.

  • Income Categories

Annual gross income categories for the sliding tuition scale start at $0-$60,000 and top out at $200,000+. In-house Family Scholarships are available to families earning below $60,000.
  • Households earning annual gross income in the $200K+ category, proceed to sign and submit this form. This concludes your verification process.

  • Households earning less than $200K in annual gross income: documentation is required. Scan and email to director@treehousechildren.org or provide hard copies to the front office. Sign to acknowledge your understanding of the following and submit documentation as soon as possible:

    • For all family wage earners, submit a copy of most recent IRS Form 1040, page 1 only. We look at "total income" as indicated on line 9.
    • For all family wage earners, submit a copy of most recent IRS Form W-2.
    • For parents/guardians who file separate tax returns, submit copies of both tax returns.
    • For parents who are separated, submit a copy of the alimony/child support agreement.
    • For families who have no income sources, please submit a signed written statement.
    • If tax returns don’t reflect your current financial situation, you will be asked to submit additional documentation.
    • Families who do not submit documentation will not be eligible for a sliding-scale tuition reduction, and will be billed in the highest income category.
  • Important note for our Vermont families:  The Treehouse partners with the State of Vermont to help families pay for child care expenses through the state's Child Care Financial Assistance program (CCFAP).

Families qualify for this program based upon their family size and gross monthly income. Sliding scale award payments are made directly to the Treehouse; we, in turn, reduce family tuition by that same amount, and families pay any outstanding balance.

To learn more about CCFAP, please visit the State of Vermont’s Child Care Financial Assistance page. We strongly encourage all families to sign up for this hard-won benefit (paid for in large part by a Child Care Contribution payroll tax).
