You understand this course is a combination of online and in-person learning for a comprehensive educational experience. Online: This section of the course will be completed online using your device connected to the internet. You have the flexibility to choose the time that works best for you to complete these modules. Upon completion, you will receive a diploma entitled "Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Course - Hybrid Training." That diploma must be sent to sjcerteducation@sanjoseca.gov so you can attend the next section of training. Applied Learning Day: The "Applied Learning Day" for the 'Online' course offers more in-depth training than the "Skills Day" for other CERT classes. This in-person session provides essential hands-on training to strengthen your CERT skills and knowledge. 'Applied Learning Days' are scheduled when there are sufficient individuals that have completed the training. BOTH PORTIONS NEED TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN SIX MONTHS OF SUBMITTING THIS FORM. IF NOT COMPLETED IN SIX MONTHS, YOU WILL NEED TO START THE COURSE AGAIN. This program covers all the material in the 'Hybrid' or 'In-Person' CERT courses and precludes attending those classes.
