In a one-page written formal essay, outline the specific goals you aim to achieve during your student teaching experience. The statement should be written with the principal or administrator of the placement school as the intended audience, using a professional tone. Make sure to include your name in the heading.

The cover letter should follow the format of a formal business letter. Do not address any specific school. This one-page, general letter should introduce you as a professional, provide a brief overview of your qualifications, outline your teaching philosophy, and describe the type of educational environment you seek for your student teaching placement.

Letters of Recommendation

Please provide contact information for three references who can submit letters of recommendation for your student teaching application. It is suggested to include a professor, an employer, and someone who has observed you working with children. The letters should specifically recommend you for the student teaching position.
