At the 2024 state convention, there will be elections to the People First of Washington Board of Directors. Nominations from the floor will occur during the People First of Washington annual state convention. Those nominated must fill out the application form.
There are five positions on this year's ballot:
- President
- Vice-President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Historian
- The president conducts the meeting agenda, introducing each section. Is the leader of People First of Washington and works with all members to be inclusive and respectful, ensuring that each person’s voice is heard.
- The vice president is the member who conducts the Board meetings if the president is not able to do so. The vice president does everything that the president would do if he or she were there.
- The secretary calls the roll and notes which members are present or absent. States if a quorum is present (50% plus one person present). The secretary reads aloud the minutes of the last meeting. The minutes are the written notes of what happened at the meeting. The secretary takes minutes (notes) about what happens during the session. The secretary is the member who conducts the Board meeting if the president and vice president cannot do so. The secretary does everything the president would do if he or she were there.
- The treasurer keeps track of all the organization’s income and expenses. Without all other officers, the treasurer conducts the Board meeting.
- The historian records People First of Washington's accomplishments and activities for the year.
- Collects pictures and news clippings about People First and its members.
- Organizes a scrapbook to tell the organization’s story for the year.
- Makes the scrapbook meaningful to members and future members around the state.
- Makes the book compact but complete by including items only if they involve the state organization directly or members
