  • Peace Books, School-Wide Celebration!

Welcome to Peace Books, a community-sponsored celebration of literacy and multiculturalism. Our library of "Peace Books" opens children’s eyes to the amazing diversity in our world and their own place in it.
  • How Does Peace Books Work?

  • Each classroom has created a wish list of books: whimsical, hilarious, inspiring, endearing, thought provoking, all beautifully illustrated. Donations in our Peace Book Fund allow us to purchase books from our friends at the Norwich Bookstore and at Still North Books in Hanover (both grant us a 20% discount). We love keeping it local.

Every child participates! During your child's birthday month, he/she chooses a Peace Book from a broad selection. This special birthday present gets adorned with a personalized bookplate.

Each family can enjoy, read and re-read the Peace Book at home for however long you like, days or months, before "gifting" the book to the classroom library where it will permanently live to the delight of other children too.

  • How Do We Get Signed Up?

  • No sign up necessary! By attending the Treehouse, your child is already slated to choose a special book during his or her birthday month.

  • May We Make a Donation to the Peace Books Fund?

  • Thanks for asking! :)

This is indeed a community-sponsored celebration, and we encourage families to donate in their children’s names. Parents, grandparents, family friends, anyone can participate -- simply send them the link to this form.

Donations are entirely optional. That said, many families contribute even a little something, and some contribute even a little more, making an additional donation on behalf of those who aren't in a position to afford it this year.

    We sincerely appreciate your generosity.
