Application for 2024 Oasis Activity Vendor-Carbondale Mountain Fair
Mountain Fair's Oasis is a special area of the fair designated specifically for kids and family fun. Due to the new Carbondale Pool construction, this year's zone will take place on Main Street and Weant, allowing the Oasis to expand into a Family Block Party!
The Oasis includes a stage, kid-friendly vendors, a cooling-mist station, water station, and Creative Arts Canopy hosted by Carbondale Arts. In addition to these, Mountain Fair is seeking other partners such as schools, arts programs, and youth organizations to get involved and set up their own family-friendly activity tent or area. We are seeking activities that are creative, playful, and engaging.
A successful example; The Kids Carnival, organized by The Carbondale Community School. They’ve brought bouncy castles, dunk tanks, carnival games, and more to the fair. And it’s a fundraiser for CCS, charging just a little bit for entry.
Carbondale Mountain Fair is held the last FULL weekend in July. 2024 dates are July 26, 27, 28.
Criteria for applying/application link
All Vendors at Carbondale Mountain Fair are selected by jury, and while this area of the fair does not require artistic curation, all applications will be reviewed and selected by the Mountain Fair Directing Team, Carbondale Arts Staff, & the Oasis Volunteer Supervising Team to ensure an incredible and safe event for families and kids.
Youth, Art, or Education organizations, institutions, or businesses who can provide safe, engaging, playful, creative, and family-friendly experiences are welcome to apply! Remember, Mountain Fair celebrates art in all of its forms.
Activities could include: creative games, friendly or collaborative contests, arts & crafts, story-making/telling, mazes, portable playgrounds (e.i. Bouncy castles, Zorbing), etc.
*Note: If an applicant wants to provide hand-prepared food (aka non-prepackaged food), they must apply as a Food Vendor in a separate application found here https://form.jotform.com/240226833944155. All Food Vendor Applications are due by Apr. 5. Any packaged food sold must follow our Zero Waste Protocols.
Oasis Activity Booth applicants must provide everything needed in order to host their activities, including but not limited to a 10x10 or 10x20 shade tent with water barrels or sandbags for weight, point of sales systems, and wifi hotspots, and a perimeter if needed. Electricity can be provided by Mountain Fair as needed.

However, Mountain Fair incurs a considerable cost to ensure permits, safety, waste management, entertainment, and more. Plus, at its heart, it’s a fundraiser for Carbondale Arts!

Personal WiFi HotSpots HIGHLY recommended!
