We understand this can be a very exciting time for our potential puppy parents and we have started our waiting list. We require an $850 non-refundable deposit to hold a puppy in your name. Puppy selections will occur after BAER testing around 7 weeks of age in the order deposits were received. Deposit goes towards final purchase price of the puppy. In the event we are unable to provide a puppy with your preferred color, gender, and/or LUA preferences as noted below in your answers, we will either roll your deposit over to our next litter or will refund your deposit. No other reasons for possible refund will be granted.
We give priority to our Waitlist who have sent in deposits to secure their spots to reserve a puppy before litters are on the ground. However, we do have a FREE Notification List for applicants who aren't ready to send in a deposit yet but want to be considered for a puppy AFTER the litter has been born when we will know more on how many puppies will be available after the Waitlist is taken care of.
We completely understand the urge for potential puppy parents to want to come visit our puppies. We do not allow any visitors unless it's coming to pickup your pup. Due to possible illness that can be brought into our home from outside sources, the risk is too great.
We post updates of our puppies on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/luadalmatian) so you will see many photos and videos of the puppies until you are able to come meet them!
Puppies will include the following:
- Dewclaws Removed
- Microchipped
- AKC Full Registration (*only for normal bilateral hearing pups)
- DNA test results for LUA type
- BAER testing with OFA certification paperwork
- Age appropriate vaccinations & deworming
- 2 yr health contract against life threatening hereditary conditions
- Litterbox trained
- Crate training started
- Swim training started (in warm months only)
- Socialized with other dogs, cats, people.
- Confidence building with baby agility obstacles
- Puppy Surprise Pack
** A note on LUA types as we are asked often about this. ALL of our puppies are LUA and will NOT require a special diet or be at risk of kidney stones due to hyperuricosuria (a genetic condition found in HUA dalmatians). Some of our puppies will carry 1 normal gene (all you need is 1 to be an LUA dalmatian!) while others will carry 2 normal genes. From a health standpoint, both types of LUA dalmatians are identical so if you are choosing a puppy to be a pet only you can save some money if you select a heterozygous (N/hu) puppy. Our homozygous (N/N) puppies that carry 2 normal genes are priced higher as they are more sought after by those who wish to breed their puppies. Homozygous LUA dogs will ALWAYS produce LUA puppies no matter if they are bred to another LUA or HUA dalmatian so they are more valuable as breeding prospects to improve the health of our beloved dalmatian breed! Our puppies are priced according to their LUA type regardless if you are looking for a pet or breeding prospect.
Puppy Pricing:
Heterozygous (N/hu) $2500
Homozygous (N/N) $3500
**In the event that we have a puppy that DOES NOT have full bilateral hearing as determined by their BAER testing, that puppy will be sold with LIMITED AKC registration and be required to be spayed/neutered by 18 months of age. No offspring shall be produced by puppies that do not have full normal hearing. Puppies that do not have full bilateral hearing will have their purchase price reduced and be placed as pets only.
We know everyone wants to select their puppy quickly but it takes many weeks for spotting patterns to develop on dalmatian puppies and BAER testing can't happen until puppies are closer to 7 weeks of age for accuracy. So we encourage our waitlist to get to know all the puppies through our videos, photos, and descriptions while they are growing and come up with a few standouts that you like when it is time for you to make your selection. Of course, we are always here to help make suggestions to pair you up with the best personality puppy for your lifestyle...don't be afraid to ask for help on choosing your new family member!!
Shipping
We prefer puppy buyers to pick up in person, but we understand this may not always be possible. Since COVID, shipping options for puppies has changed significantly and is much more expensive. We can help arrange shipping WITHIN the USA (excluding Hawaii) via air cargo (weather permitting), flight nannies, or ground shipping. Costs for shipping will vary by type and company hired and all expenses incurred for veterinary health certificate paperwork, crate/supplies, travel fees, etc will be at the Buyer's expense. It is often CHEAPER to fly in and fly your puppy back IN-CABIN WITH YOU these days. We can deliver your puppy to you at the airport (either DFW International or Dallas Love Field) for a $75 travel fee to cover our tolls, miles, and time. Of course, puppy buyers are welcome to pick up puppies from our home in McKinney, TX as well.
