The pastors and staff at LH understand there may be different types of hardships you and/or your family are facing in this season. We want to let you know we are here for you! We are praying for you and we want to help you.
Benevolence assistance is intended to be a temporary help during the time of crisis. To that end, benevolence assistance is a one-time gift and is not guaranteed. Under no circumstances is benevolence assistance considered a loan.
Benevolence Fund Allocation
Lighthouse Church accepts requests and awards benevolence assistance to LHC partners as well as those who are part of our community. Benevolence funds are limited; therefore, funding is prioritized in the following manner:
- Lighthouse Church Partners
- Lighthouse Church Attendee
- Member of the Local Community
Benevolence Board Meetings and Communication
Benevolence meetings are at 6 pm and 6:45 pm on Monday nights. The last step of your application, you must pick one of the days and times to meet with the board to discuss your application. We will meet at the Lighthouse Church main offices, located at 6691 Baymeadow Drive, Suite 100, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. Please understand we cannot accept any applications that are not fully filled out and you will only be in our system if you schedule an interview date/time.
The primary means of contact is cell phone. Our secondary means of contact is email. Please be checking your phone and email regularly prior to your interview date. If we cannot reach you after two attempts, your eligibility for benevolence will be forfeited. If you miss two appointments, your eligibility for benevolence will be forfeited.
Eligible Areas of Support
Lighthouse Church typically offers benevolence assistance to individuals for the following life needs:
- Rent/Mortgage in emergency situations
- Rent for Christ-centered Recovery Homes
- Utilities
- Temporary lodging in crisis situations
- Food
- Clothing
- Other emergency circumstances
Lighthouse Church does not offer benevolence for:
- Student expenses / tuition
- Non Christ-centered Recovery Homes
- Security Deposits
- Business investments
- Car payments
- Child / spousal support
- Legal fees
- Late payment penalties
- Elective medical expense
- and / or any other expenses that are not deemed as absolutely essential.
Additionally, Lighthouse Church does not award benevolence for payment on credit cards except in the case that a credit card is utilized in a crisis or emergency (hospitalization, death, etc.).
Confidentiality of Benevolence Requests
In accordance with legal guidelines, all Benevolence Request applications are confidential and under no circumstances will that information be shared or sold to outside agencies, or accessible to a non-pertinent staff / Benevolence Committee members.
