Proper occlusion and wear are essential for the longevity of your horse. Common complications as a result of poor dentition include: abnormal or slow chewing, quidding or dropping food, weight loss or a change in body condition, poor performance, nasal discharge and facial deformities.

DR. VICKY JOHNSON, DVMDr. Johnson completed her DVM at the Ohio State University in 2020. She spent her first year after graduation completing an intership at Rood and Riddle in Saratoga Springs, NY. Her professional interests to be diverse from lameness to reproduction, but enjoys complementary medicine that focuses on maximizing comfort and performance for all types of equines. She also is 1 of 4 practitioners who provide routine and advanced dental care.
