SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

A member-sponsored application offering two Scholarships for College-Bound Students of Italian-American Heritage

Two deserving college-bound students were awarded scholarships in 2024 by the Italian Cultural Foundation at Casa Belvedere. The 2024 Italian Cultural Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Nicoletta Geraci (left), who will attend Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.

The 2024 Vito and Rosalia Biancardi Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Anita Hartman (right), who will attend Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

The awards were presented by Michael Pucciarelli, vice chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Each scholarship winner will receive $2,500 per academic year for up to four years ($10,000 total) if they remain matriculated and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The scholarship recipient selection was based on being a member’s blood relative, academic scores, extracurricular activities, reference letters, and an essay about the student’s individual experience growing up Italian American. 

The Italian Cultural Foundation Scholarship Fund was created in 2023 to promote our shared Italian-American heritage, support academic excellence, empower the next generation of leaders and help defray the high costs of a college education to those in need. This scholarship is funded annually by the Italian Cultural Foundation.

The Vito and Rosalia Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 2023 by the children and friends of Vito Biancardi (1936-2017) and Rosalia Biancardi (1938-2022). Vito and Rosalia were immigrants from Italy who sacrificed so much to provide a better life for their children. They understood the transformative power of education, viewing it as the great equalizer and passport to success. In that same spirit, the Biancardi family is committed to higher education by helping defray college costs for outstanding Italian American students and future leaders. This scholarship is funded annually by the Biancardi family.

Applications for the 2025 scholarship program
will be available in the spring.
