Introduction
SJCC Foundation promotes sustainable means of livelihood by providing entrepreneur grants in support of small and medium scale enterprises. This grant scheme aids innovative entrepreneurs achieve their goal of providing solution to the problem their business is addressing, grow their businesses, and the economy.
Goal
The goal of the grant scheme is to alleviate poverty, grow economy and improve the living condition of people from low income communities.
Types of Businesses Supported by SJCC Foundation Entrepreneur Grants
Businesses to be considered for grants must:
- Fall within or put into consideration the Foundation’s focus areas (Food security, Poverty
- alleviation, Environmental protection, Women & Children’s empowerment, Health and
- Education);
- Have a clear business plan that identify a problem, propose solutions, product/service,
- executive summary, company description, financials, budget, market analysis, marketing
- strategy, and outline target market;
- Be achievable, sustainable with measurable outcomes and a concrete impact on
- communities;
- Costs less than or equal to One million naira (N1,000,000.00) for Nigerian based business; or
- Costs less than or equal to Five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) for USA based business; and
- Reflect the values of the Foundation.
Entrepreneurs Eligible to Apply for Discretionary Grants
Applicants for grants must be:
- A business registered and working in Nigeria
- Possess verifiable experience in what they do
- Willing to comply with the Foundation’s Terms and Conditions
Response to Grants Applications by the Foundation
All successful application will be acknowledged via email immediately upon submission. After review, applicants will be responded within sixty days if they are selected for the next phase or not. Applicants who are considered for the next stage will be scheduled for further assessment. When notified, this is not a criteria that the grant must be approved.
NOTE: Due to the high volume of applications we receive annually, we are only able to fund grants our capacity.
Post Grant Reporting by Grantees
All successful grantees are expected to start making use of the funds in the business and in the manner the grant was approved for within one month of receiving the fund. They will be required to submit three comprehensive narrative and financial reports of the grant to the Foundation within one (1) month, within six (6) months and one (1) year of the grant intervention in their business.
