To mark the occasions of Cruinniú na nÓg and Celtic Con in June 2024, you are invited to create a piece of art inspired by comics, graphic novels or super heroes.
This art competition is for all young people up to 18 (living in Laois).
The sky is the limit and your artwork can be in any visual art medium such as, drawing, painting, lego, sculpture, print, collage, digital photography, mixed media, graffiti, etc.
Age categories are: Under 6 | 6-8 | 9-11 | 12-14 | 15-18
Children of all abilities and backgrounds are encouraged to enter. Please get in touch if you need support with the application process or want to provide us with any additional information.
Prize:
5 winners and 5 runners up will be selected and prints of their artworks will be exhibited at Dunamaise Arts Centre café throughout June. Art Packs will be to presented at Celtic Con 2024.
The Competition opens at 10am on Saturday 26th April and closes midnight Sunday 26th May
The Cruinniú na nÓg Art Competition is supported by Creative Ireland Laois as part of the Creative Ireland Programme and in partnership with Dunamaise Arts Centre and Celtic Con.
NOTE: If you are under 18, it is required that your Parent/Guardian provide consent to enter this Competition. A Parent/Guardian’s contact number will be required.
Fill in the Competition form
- Upload 1 image of 1 artwork
- Upload your image as a .jpeg or .png file, no larger than 2MB in size
- Before you upload your image, you should rename it with: Your Name_Title of Artwork_Inspiration (if relevant) e.g. Spiderman, Umbrella Academy, etc
REMEMBER:
· Artworks without your name cannot be adjudicated.
· The original artwork should be retained and kept in a safe place in case the organisers require to professionally photograph it and / or scan it for print purposes
· Winners are required to make their original artwork available to the Dunamaise Arts Centre for photographing and / or scanning. If the original artwork entry is not available, it may deem your entry null and void. This will be at the discretion of the competition organisers – Laois Arts Office and Dunamaise Arts Centre
