  • Canadian Parents for French, offers cultural grants to teachers and schools for French Language activities.

    Who qualifies?

    The Canadian Parents for French, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland & Labrador branches are now offering cultural grants and is open to French Second-Language teachers (French immersion, Core French, Integrate French and IB programs) and schools with a French Second-Language program who wish to organize a French activity in school or open to the public.  Applicants and organizations must be located in Prince Edward Island or Newfoundland & Labrador. 

     

    What projects qualify?

    To qualify for a cultural grant, an event must promote one of the following:

    A new or innovative French activity in your classroom, school or community.
    An event, performance or workshop that highlights French Second-Language or Francophone culture in an educational setting.
    A special French Second-Language or Francophone cultural event that is open to the school population and/or general public.
     

    When do we qualify?

    Applications will be reviewed and processed as soon as possible.  Please allow time before your event to receive approval.  Please complete the outline of your budget for our records.  The cultural grant can be applied from September to June of each school year.  Multiple requests will be approved depending upon funds available. Please complete the application at least two weeks prior to your activity/event.

  • *Expenses that qualify for reimbursement include: venue or space rental, admission,price per head, meals, workshop/performer presenter’s fee, materials, etc.

    *buses, mileage (.55c/km) will be considered if school administration declines payment for an activity.

    Please contact us if you are unsure if an expense is reimbursable.
