    Watercolour for Beginners Waitlist

    This is the fundamentals course that you will need to get started in watercolours the right way. You will learn all the fundamental methods, techniques and skills that you need to master this wonderful medium and paint beautiful landscapes as we practise our skills.

    Marlene Madole — painter, drawer and printmaker is known for her extraordinary treatment of light, Marlene draws viewers into the heart of her artistic intent. A Life Member and Past President of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC), she has exhibited for over 40 years across Canada and internationally, including Vancouver, Toronto, Italy’s FabrianoInAquarello Festival, and the CSPWC’s Open Water International Exhibition, Mexican Biennial, and exchange exhibitions with France and California.

    A recipient of multiple Ontario Arts Council grants and an Artist Residency in Georgian Bay Islands National Park, Marlene’s work appears in collections across Canada, the USA, and Europe — and will soon join the Royal Collection Trust for CSPWC’s 100th Anniversary.

    No experience needed.  In this  5 session course you learn the basics of weaving: making a warp, dressing a loom, reading patterns, weaving your own project, and finsihing your cloth.

    This course will teach elementary potting techniques, including throwing the basic forms and introducing Glazing and Decorating. Limited tools will be loaned during the program's term, and all supplies, glazes, and firing costs are included in the course fee.

    This course will explore the world of stained glass and teach you how to create beautiful handcrafted pieces for your home, family, and friends. You will learn the basics of using a pattern, scoring methods, breaking out, grinding, foiling and soldering of coloured and textured glass. Students will work on a project either a Lantern or a small sun-catcher and a 8 x 10 project panel.

    Ready to take your stained glass skills to the next level? Join us for an intermediate-level class where you’ll create a stunning, three-sided stained glass spinner! Prerequisite: Must have some experience with stained glass. Come explore new techniques, refine your craft, and leave with a mesmerizing piece of art that catches the light beautifully!

    Beginner Crochet - Waitlist

    In this beginner Crochet class, students will receive a crochet hook and yarn.
    You will learn to start and finish a piece

    • chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double, double and treble crochet to put a ridged surface in the design
    • read a pattern 
    • create a Granny square using a number of these stitches
    • join squares together.
    • You will start a small project, of your choice, such as a scarf, hat or bag, in the second/third week.
