This is the most common and effective kind of mentorship. In this type of relationship, the Fabacademic (i.e., the mentor) provides guidance, advice, and support to a less experienced person (i.e., the mentee). The goal behind this model is usually career advancement or skill-building. In this case, the mentee develops skills and knowledge in a particular area by speaking with an expert mentor in that field. This is the program you choose if you want Fabacademic to help you through a challenging task, such as writing a research proposal for a postgrad degree; preparing a presentation or speech; developing a career plan for yourself. It is called once-off because there will be only one meeting and if you want more you will either have to negotiating days. If you want Fabacademic to provide this kind of mentorship for a longer period then rather select Medium to Long term mentorship.

In this style of mentoring Fabacademic will work with a group of up to 10 mentees. Fabacademic will lead the sessions with the group of mentees all bringing in their own range of knowledge and experience. Group mentoring helps to reach and impact more mentees in a shorter amount of time than traditional mentoring. It is an effective way of up-skilling groups, retaining knowledge and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing. This form of mentorship helps to improve every participant’s teamwork skills too. It is an invaluable way to foster teamwork and a culture of inclusion. All you need to do is organise a group of not more than 10 people you want to be in a mentorship group with and Fabacademic will meet with the group for one and a half hours either virtually or face to face. If you prefer a face to face session then please note that Fabacademic can only do this either in Johannesburg or Cape Town and you will have to organise a venue and transport for her to get to the venue.

A medium-term mentorship relationship is not just about transferring knowledge and skills, but also about providing guidance and support. Fabacademic will help you, the mentee, identify and pursue your goals, overcome obstacles, and learn from your mistakes. Mentorship meetings will be held for an hour every week, either online or face to face in Johannesburg or Cape Town. Select this program if you want Fabacademic to support you for three months to get your career to a higher level or offer you expert advice and assistance while you are working on your research proposal or finalising your research report.

A long-term mentorship relationship is not just about transferring knowledge and skills, but also about providing guidance and support. Fabacademic will help you, the mentee, identify and pursue your goals, overcome obstacles, and grow from your disappointments and/or mistakes. Mentorship meetings will be held for an hour once every week, either online or face to face in Johannesburg or Cape Town.

If you have a specific task that you need Fabacademic's mentorship as you work through it then this is the programme for you. You will meet with Fabacademic once a week for the month working on clear deliverables under her support. You choose whether you want the sessions to be face to face (in JHB or CPT) or virtual. All face to face meetings will be at a place convenient for Fabacademic.
