Thank you for your interest in adopting from KittyCat Rescue (KCR). The main focus of KCR is to socialise stray, wild born or abandoned kittens and cats so they can be adopted into loving homes.

We appreciate your honesty & co-operation in completing this form. By asking these questions we get to know you prior to meeting, as our aim is to adopt each cat in our care to the most suitable family & home. If you have any queries about anything below, please don’t hesitate to ask.

All of our cats have been vet checked prior, including desexing, microchip & NZCAR registration, 1st vaccination and flea & worming treatment. The adoption fee goes towards these basic costs.

What are you looking for in a cat? (Please consider personality, energy level, compatibility with pets and other children/people etc)

Are you open to or do you have experience in, or understand the needs of taking on a rescue cat, or a cat with limited socialisation? Or is it a non rescue cat you're after?

If behavioural issues were to arise with your cat, what problem behaviours would be unacceptable, and what would you do to resolve the problem?

Do you plan to keep the cat indoors, outdoors or a mixture of both?

Upon arrival we highly recommend keeping your new cat confined to 1 room of the house for at least the first week, and strictly indoors for at least 4 to 6 weeks minimum. Is this achievable?

During this time where will the cat be kept while they settle into your home?

Approx. how many hours a day will the cat be left alone, and where would the cat have access to?

How will the cat be cared for when you are on holiday/vacation?

KittyCat Rescue reserves the right to decline any application at our discretion.

You must be over 18 years of age to adopt.

You understand that providing unfaithful answers or failure to comply with the requirements of this form may result in the refusal and collection/return of the cat to KCR.
