JOB DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary focus of Camp Counselors is the well-being, safety, and happiness of the campers. Candidates are to have health and safety knowledge to help keep all campers safe, excellent communication skills to convey camp procedures to all visitors, leadership skills to guide and motivate campers throughout their stay, and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with campers. Candidates are responsible for planning, leading, and executing age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities, such as songs, science experiments, drama, sports, games, cooking, arts and crafts, special events, water-based activities, and field trips. These activities cater to children aged 6 to 12 years. As role models and mentors, counselors maintain an enthusiastic and positive attitude. They oversee all aspects of their assigned group, ensuring the successful completion of scheduled activities and the introduction of engaging fillers during downtime. Their duties encompass initial discipline, including warnings and redirection of behavior, as well as providing basic first aid when needed. The role involves setting up and dismantling program equipment and materials. Counselors actively participate in all program components, which may include standing for extended periods, walking long distances, bending, lifting equipment weighing up to 45 pounds, and enduring exposure to sun, heat, and cold weather.
Position Requirements:
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age by the first day of camp. Candidates should have experience in working with children. Previous experience in working with any type of camp program, youth service program, or child care program is preferred.

- Must adhere to and follow safety protocols and given instruction on COVID-19 practices and procedures.
- Must have the ability to swim and be prepared to actively swim & supervise children in a pool and/or at water park field trips.
