The Rutherford Arts Alliance will present A Light Exists in Spring: An Interpretive Exhibition this May 2024, featuring visual and literary artwork from Alliance members.
This call is open to all current and new members of RAA to apply.
Showcase Your Art!
* This exhibit is open to all 2D and 3D media, including poetry and prose.
* No more than one submission of three visual or literary artworks will be considered. Mixed submissions of visual and literary are encouraged but not required.

The exposition will be exhibited in Murfreesboro's Center for the Arts gallery at 110 W College St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130.
Who is eligible to participate? Both existing and new Rutherford Arts Alliance members are welcome to participate.
How long does it take to complete the submission process? It typically takes around 10 to 15 minutes to finish.
Scheduled Friday, May 10 – Monday, May 27, 2024, we'll install the art on May 6 – 9, with an Artists' Reception on May 10 and an Artist Panel on Saturday, May 25. The Artists' Reception coincides with the opening of Rock of Ages, a musical set in the late 1980s in Hollywood, with wild parties in full swing across the Sunset Strip. Sherri and Drew are the main characters - a small-town girl with big dreams and a city boy working as a janitor in South LA. But their rock 'n' roll fairy tale is about to end as developers arrive with plans to replace the iconic Sunset Strip with a strip mall.
Artwork for artist pickup is May 28 – 31 from CFTA.

- 2. Submission Deadline: Tuesday, April 30 at 11:59 p.m.
- 3. Selection Notice: Saturday, May 4, You'll receive an email acceptance letter noting your artwork(s) selected for presentation.
- 4. Dropoff of Artwork: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Wednesday, May 6 - 8 at CFTA.
- 5. Installation: Thursday and Friday, May 9 and 10. (If you can assist with the installation, please let us know.
- 6. Artists Reception: 6 p.m., Friday, May 10 (coinciding with the Theatre opening of Rock of Ages)
- 7. Artist Panel: Saturday, May 25, from 3 to 6 p.m.
- 8. Uninstall: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, May 28 – 31

* And CFTA's Memorandum of Understanding for Artists 2024
Artists Reception
As part of the May 10 Artist Reception, exhibition awards of $300.00 for Best of Show (First Place), $200.00 for Second Place, and $100.00 for Third Place will be announced and presented. Jurors from the MTSU Department of Art and Design will select these awards. Exhibition organizers are eligible to participate but ineligible to receive awards.
