1. Keep your tattoo covered with specialized tattoo film (SecondSkin) for 3-5 days. If you experience discomfort or redness, remove the film, and symptoms should ease within a couple of days.
2. After 3-5 days, gently remove the film by prying it from the edge and peeling it off to the side.
3. Keep the tattoo clean by washing it 2-3 times a day with warm water and unscented soap, then drying the skin with a paper towel. Avoid rubbing the skin with a towel or using washcloths and strongly scented soaps.
4. Once completely dry, apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizing cream or aftercare tattoo cream. Moisturize your new tattoo twice daily for the next 10 days.
5. The tattoo may begin to flake, which is a normal process. Avoid peeling or scratching it.
6. While your tattoo may appear healed in 2-3 weeks, complete healing typically takes 4-5 weeks. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
During the first two weeks after the session, please avoid:
- Skin steaming: Avoid baths, hot showers, or saunas.
- Swimming in pools or water reservoirs, as it poses a risk of infection.
- Intense physical exercises or sports. Gentle stretching and yoga are exceptions.
- Wearing tight clothing that could rub against the tattoo.
- Scrubbing the skin or using harsh exfoliants.
- Sunbathing: Protect your tattoo from the sun with clothing, and always use sunscreen after healing when in the sun.
Additionally, avoid alcohol for the first day or two after the session, as it can weaken the immune system and impede healing processes, potentially leading to swelling.
