You do not need to be an artist or a naturalist to begin. These skills can be learned by anyone and helps you develop observation, curiosity, gratitude, reverence, memory (Source: John Muir Laws). This class will provide you with information, simple techniques, and practices for starting a personal nature journal practice.
Spend an afternoon exploring the Amnicola Marsh area of the TN Riverwalk with certified Tennessee Naturalist, Kathy Fulton. You will explore the micro ecosystem at the marsh, learn about different plants and species and have fun with a nature journaling activity. You do not have to be an artist or writer to enjoy this activity!WHAT TO BRING: your lunch and water; wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring a journal if you have one you're working in or supplies will be available on site for you to use. We will use a picnic table in the area but you may want to have a camping chair available in your car, if needed.
