  • Fox Island Bridge Vessel Survey

    2024
  • The Fox Island Bridge, declared to be structurally deficient in 2013, is in need of replacement. Pierce County (County) is currently conducting a type, size, and location study for the replacement of the existing Fox Island Bridge.

As part of this study, the County would like to confirm what was learned in the Marine Survey Report conducted by the County in 2017. Understanding the opinions of those who use either the channel below the Fox Island Bridge or the bridge itself is key to making informed decisions about the project.

Who should take this survey: People who have or use marine vessels within a 20-mile radius of the Fox Island Bridge.

Estimated time to complete: about 10 minutes.

  • 1) Are you responding to this survey as: (select all that apply)*
  • 2) What type of recreational boat(s) do you own?
  • 8) Do you use the channel under the Fox Island Bridge?*
  • 10) The existing Fox Island Bridge has a vertical clearance of approximately 32 feet at mean high water (MHW). Is this sufficient clearance if a replacement bridge is constructed with the same clearance?
  • 11) The existing Fox Island Bridge has a vertical clearance of approximately 32 feet at mean high water (MHW).  Would a lesser vertical clearance be acceptable?
  • Should be Empty:
