NOTICE: AS OF APRIL 30th, WE ARE OFFICIALLY ON A WAITING LIST. ANY APPLICANTS RECEIVED WILL NOT BE REVIEWED UNLESS THERE ARE EXTRA SEATS IN THE FELLOWSHIPS. THOSE WHO SUBMIT THIS APPLICATION WILL BE ADDED TO OUR WAITING LIST AND WILL BE SENT AN EMAIL SHOULD A SEAT OPEN UP.

Welcome to the HEROES Fellowship! We believe that every student should have the chance to thrive, both personally and academically. We’re excited to hear you’re interested.

Our fellowship consists of three components:

Saturday Academy: Engage in our virtual Saturday Academy, where you can choose two courses from a diverse range of subjects tailored to your interests and academic goals. Saturday Academy is 11 AM to 2 PM starting in September 2024.

Success Coach: Each student is matched with a dedicated success coach who acts as a mentor and guide throughout your journey of college and career exploration. With regular bi-weekly meetings, your coach provides personalized support, valuable insights, and assistance in setting and achieving your goals.

Tutoring: Access our program counselors who lead weekly tutoring sessions. These sessions are designed to support you in both HEROES classes and your high school coursework, such as English, Math, Global Studies, Living Environment, and more.

Psychology of Self & Learning - In this course, scholars will dive into the fascinating world of psychology, exploring human behavior and how we learn. They'll explore psychological theories, gain insights into themselves, and discover ways to improve their learning skills. Through fun discussions and activities, students will explore topics such as memory, motivation, and emotional intelligence, helping them succeed in school and beyond.

College & Career Readiness - In this course, scholars will focus on preparing for the next chapter after high school, delving into motivation, resume building, college applications, internships, and effective study techniques. Through practical workshops and discussions, students will develop the skills and confidence needed to navigate the transition smoothly.

The Art of Storytelling - In this course, scholars will be inspired to become skilled writers as they explore different writing styles and techniques for creative and effective expression. Through interactive activities and constructive feedback, students will develop their storytelling abilities and become better writers. This course provides an excellent opportunity to enhance writing skills in preparation for college applications, college writing, and even professional writing.

Financial Literacy 101 - In this course, scholars will delve into the essential principles of money management to develop a strong financial foundation. Students will learn the art of creating intelligent budgets, cultivating savings habits, understanding credit scores, and initiating basic investment strategies. Scholars will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate their financial futures with confidence and success.
