Renaissance Box (RB) applications will undergo a competitive review process. The residency team will consist of one STEM professional, one art professional, and two to five project assistants/ student mentees, with the review committee having the discretion to adjust these numbers as necessary.
Renaissance Box Residency program is a 10 - 12 week residency for artists and STEM professionals and artists to create a new project inspired by any combination of science and studio art disciplines. This residency also includes a stipend of $2500, and 24/7 studio access. This stipend can be used for personal expenses outside of Renaissance Box. No receipts or accounting of expenditures are required for the stipend, but are required for any additional funding. RB invites applications from STEM Professionals and artists at any stage in their careers. RB can also provide technical advice and production assistance.
RB's residency selection process: a rotating, impartial jury selects the finalists, interviews are conducted, and then RB applies for additional funding for the chosen project. RB will oversee any additional project funding, requiring receipts or accounting of additional expenditures.
The goal of RB is to provide an immersive residency experience in Cleveland, OH, offering a diverse array of STEM, cultural, and networking opportunities to foster community-building and growth. Participation by the RB team in this programming is a required component of the residency program.
The residency will culminate in an exhibit at an art gallery and/or Ingenuity Cleveland, contingent upon Director's determination. This exhibition will showcase works created during the Residency period. Additionally, a presentation such as an artist talk, panel discussion, or other public programming will be required at or near the conclusion of the Residency.
